Hello beautiful people. My desk is not in its usual messy state so Im seizing the day and giving you a quick tour of it. I try to keep my desk decluttered from time to time, only keeping the things I love seeing to give me inspiration when Im working. All the other stuff are organised in my drawers. I try to get things done on my desk as much as possible because Im rendered immobile whenever Im on my bed. Lately though, Im always out working in coffee shops, the org office, the library. I have to bring my stuff and turn every place into my little office because if I dont squeeze some work in, I wouldnt be able to get things done. That's also the reason why my desk is so tidy! Haha! Im barely home sigh. Anyway, shall we?
My main light can be a bit too bright and sometimes causes eye strain so as much as possible I just use my IKEA lamp. It is an incandescent light and the shade gives the right amount of dim.
Photobooth prints from different events and timezone holds a significant place in my desk. Seeing my favourite people and how happy I look with them always puts me in a great mood.
The photo in the frame is from an art trade. As much as I like having it there, I probably should change it. My three year old cousin, Yuna, pointed to the girls hand and said "'di ba bad to?" Imagine my shame..
I keep my father's perfume within arms' reach. Ive had this for years now but I can never get enough of the smell. I like having these candles on display too because they have the cutest packaging. Getting out of the shower + having them lit up while I do my night routine and write about my day is my definition of heaven. Candles are so calming! My room is an instant spa with the scent they give off.
Having plants on my desk feels like having a company without the pressure of talking to them or giving them attention. I appreciate being left alone when I get home especially now that my days are so long. I had to part with my cacti Christina and Juancho recently so this rose took their thrones for a moment. I got it from Valentine's and I was exhausted when I got home. I couldnt be bothered to put it in a proper vase so I just grabbed my water bottle from that day and slept after my routine.
Update: If you havent seen my snapchat, I just gave my rose her funeral last night. She's resting between the pages of an old book. I will see her again in few weeks when she dried up. Isnt it a beautiful irony how I killed it in order to be able to keep it longer?
And of course, we're going to pretend that I have time to actually read. I just finished Anne Frank's diary
From left to right:
my last journal
lang leav's lullabies
rupi kaur's milk and honey
