Boss in these boots

We all have that certain piece of clothing or accessory that makes us feel empowered.

For me, it’s these heeled black boots I found at the vintage store a few months ago. I swear whenever I’m in these killers, the whole world turns into a runway. The tap tap tap it creates against the concrete make me want to walk endlessly. Im reminded to walk as if Im kissing the earth with my two feet. The added inches to my 5’2 frame boosts my confidence and there’s just no stopping me. It forces my legs to be firm and tight consequently bettering my posture.

A fairy has probably sprinkled some pixie dust in these. Accidentally or not, that’s the only reason Im going to consider as to why they make me feel as if Im flying. For days when it’s so hard to lift myself up, these gangsters do the job for me very well. Maybe Im channeling the power of the earth through them. Theyve become a staple in my wardrobe and although ‘edgy’ isnt something Im trying to achieve now, I manage to end up with that ~aesthetic. A friend often jokes about how I walk as though Im passing through necks of men corpses lined up.. Thats how bad I seem? I guess it doesnt help that I have a resting bitch face.

In her book, the #GirlBoss herself, Sophia Amoruso gives advice and her tips on how she made it. One of it is “dressing the part.” She talked about how she’s more confident throughout the day when she’s confident in what she’s wearing. I just couldnt agree more. When I started to wear things that actually made me happy, it’s impacted how I present myself to others as well as my interactions with them. I want how I dress to reflect how I feel about myself. How you treat yourself is how you teach others to treat you, right?

Trust me. Once theyre on, I’m Nicole fucking Constante.
