Messy journaling for days

Hi darlings. Ive recently finished my last journal and I am currently in the process of starting a new one. There is something exquisite, almost divine, about it. It's like holding your future in your hands. It will be filled with emotions you have yet to feel and things you have yet to experience. At first the blank pages can be so intimidating until you realise that you will make a home out of them, that this notebook will carry your heart and will keep your secrets safe. It is somewhere you can animate anything.
Of everything that's fleeting, the ones I love to document the most are my emotions. My journals are where I keep my memories. I love the idea of being able look back on them. It's my way of holding on to the feelings that come and go. Maybe it's true that I live in the past way too much. I catch myself feeling nostalgic most of the time. Being homesick but instead of missing places, I long for days filled with memories Id give anything to relive. My journal goes with me wherever I go. I fill it up relentlessly beyond the confines of grammar and order. Stickers, fastfood receipts, movie tickets and pressed flowers are some of the things giving life to my stories. I write without pressure and I try to be genuine and honest because I know Im creating for my future self.
I encourage you to start one too if you havent already. If you have no idea where to begin, I gotchu. Below are some prompts to get you started. Theyre enough to last you for a month! Take a few minutes every day to document yourself now. And be messy in doing so.

A letter to:
your mom when it's past bedtime and youre not home
the stranger who held the door open for you
your favourite piece of clothing
your morning coffee/tea/drink
the cute barista
tuesdays
the person you want to become
the letter x
the city at midnight
your old friends

A list of:
things you wish you could carry everywhere
the attributes you notice first on a person
names for your future dogs/cats
things you want to start/stop doing
people you owe apology to
people that inspire you
your favourite feelings

Write:
about the story of your first kiss (make one up if you havent/if u didnt like how it went ooOps)
a story about the person you sat beside on the bus (what's their name? what are their fears?)
a poem about your favourite colour
about your views on sex
your day in bullets
if youve got everything you want, then what now?

Draw/scribble:
your palm line
your dream bedside table set up
how you picture your favourite song
how you picture your favourite scent
something you saw on the ground today
something in your wallet that isnt money/card
something youd scribble on the streets/schoolchair if vandalising wasnt a thing
